Skateboarding is an art form (not a sport) so it makes sense that great art can be made from capturing it on film and video. There are no uniforms, stadiums or rules in skateboarding and I have always thought of it as this free flowing thing like good jazz music. I think photographer Brian Kelley might view it the same way judging from his shots. At its best skating is done in the streets on obstacles whose original purpose had nothing to do with throwing yourself off on a wooden board. The locations and composition of Kelley's photos show a real understanding of the soul of skateboarding. You can see more of his work here.
