Tokyogenso's painting of a post apocalyptic Tokyo remind of the Discovery Channel show Life After People. There is something strangely comforting and beautiful about these images.
Tokyo photographer Shinato Sato has to climb up rickety fire escapes braving high winds and a deadly fall to get his shots. Unlike observation decks that offer an unobstructed view with perfect composition for locals and tourists alike Sato captures a side of the city you wont find on a postcard. Instead these are scenes a worker or resident might see looking out their home or office window. Having climbed some fire escapes in my earlier days I can tell you this photographer is putting his life in serious danger to capture these amazing images.
