Some of my favorite bands of all times fall into the punk and post punk genre, bands like: The Ramones, The Clash, Talking Heads, Television, etc. As a creative force though punk seems to have been dead for a long time. That is untill recently when bands like No Age with their mix of Black Flag and My Bloody valentine, Vivian Girls who deftly blend 60's girl group sounds and shoegaze , tropicali punks Abe Vigoda and artsy hardcore band Fucked up came on my radar.
